It
looks like it is going to be another active
tropical season this year. We pray that each
of you are doing well and not dealing with
any disasters from Tropical Storm Fay.
If you or someone you know think you may have
any kind of drivetrain water damage to your
vehicle due to Tropical Storm Fay, please
give us a call.
We are currently offering a free vehicle drivetrain
water damage evaluation. We can work with
most insurance companies. Below are some
tips to keep your vehicle free from drivetrain
water damage:
If you have to drive in a flooded area take
care. Do not attempt to drive
through water if you are unsure of the depth.
Drive
slowly and steadily to avoid creating a
wake of water, and
allow
oncoming traffic to pass first.
Most
vehicles are fitted with catalytic converters
in the exhaust
system.
The catalyst normally works at high temperatures
and may
crack
if it is submerged in water. Replacement
catalysts can be very
expensive.
The
air intake on many vehicles is located low
down at the front of
the
engine bay and it only takes a small quantity
of water sucked
into
the engine to cause serious damage. All
engines are affected
but
turbo-charged and diesel engines are most
vulnerable.
Test
your brakes as soon as you can after driving
through water.
If
the vehicle has been in a flood, drive with
extreme caution and
take
the car to be checked at the earliest
opportunity.

Five event allows visitors

on the second Thursday of every month. A
small fee of $5 allows you to sample food

to raise funds to keep the Alive After Five
